Monitoring Systems

Correct design, installation, and maintenance are critical tasks required to ensure satisfactory operation of machinery monitoring and protection systems, commonly known as Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation (TSI) systems. In turn, the monitoring system is crucial to maintaining the health of turbine generators and other large rotating machinery. Mid-America Dynamics provides a range of services related to vibration monitoring systems. Our services range from troubleshooting and calibrating older "obsolete" systems to providing complete new state-of-the-art diagnostic systems.

If you need assistance on an existing system, you can expect expert service from Mid-America Dynamics. We currently provide troubleshooting, repair, and calibration on nearly 100 TSI systems across the United States. We provide service on Entek-IRD, Bently-Nevada, ABB-ETSI, General Electric, Metrix, Vibrametrics and Dymac monitoring systems.

If you are interested in upgrading or replacing an old system or installing a new system, we will ensure your new system meets your needs. Mid-America Dynamics provides advisory services, turnkey projects, or any level of help needed to ensure a satisfactory result for our customers. We handle the details of system design, parts procurement, probe installation, calibration, bearing modification, bracket design, junction box layout, and system check-out. We provide on-site startup services to ensure that any potential problems are addressed immediately. After the project is complete, we provide training for operating and maintaining the system.

Our areas of monitoring expertise include:
  • Proximity or eddy current probe systems
  • X-Y absolute shaft vibration systems
  • Shaft-rider systems
  • Differential expansion
  • Shell expansion
  • Eccentricity
  • Thrust
  • Speed
